Proposed AMS Changes:

SAVES Program. Steve Hopkins, AFC, provided an update for the SAVES program proposed change. All comments received were accepted with 2 exceptions. Steve stated that the comment received from legal pertaining to Brand Name was accepted as was AJA-42’s comment regarding the exclusion of Software. Sybil asked that Steve verify with Greg that the resolution of the Name Brand comment was acceptable. Regarding the software exclusion, Rebecca Taylor King stated that the comment was made because software can be purchased off the shelf. Steve stated that the SAVES program is not mandatory for most software. If it is not blocked then it may be purchased using SAVES, however, SAVES is not a mandatory source for software. Lewis Fisher asked who would be responsible for putting software under the SAVES program. Steve responded that AIO reviewed IT requirements for SAVES. Jackie Baker reiterated Security’s concern for protecting data and asked that Security be kept in the loop for any changes. Steve agreed that this was a good thing to do. The ASAG concurred with the proposed change.

Actions: (1) AFC-200 to provide the final policy and guidance documents to Malinda for processing.
